Stroke Bed Positioning - For Your Well Being


What is stroke?
Stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts (or ruptures).
What the common things that will happen when stroke occurs?

The effects of a stroke depend on several factors, including the location of the obstruction and how much brain tissue is affected. During the rehabilitative phase of a stroke patient, there is a very high chances for the patient to be bed-bound.


These following positions are very critical for every bed-bound stroke patient to prevent bed-sore.











Position should be changed every 2 to 4 hours to prevent skin breakdown and improved comfort
